It it today, that I have lost hope in humanity as a whole. While there are I am sure numerous amounts of citizens that still care and still have hope that there is a nation that is united. I disagree. When it all comes down to it the only thing that is important to people is their power and wealth.

Today I was removed from the Burke County Rescue Squad which I have been a member for close to a year. Some background on this is I used to be with another department, but decided to leave this paid department to join a strictly no pay volunteer department because I thought I could be a better help where help was definitely needed. I was wrong. Well not really wrong, help WAS needed just no one there seems to realize it yet.

This afternoon while driving home I witnessed a 2 car Motor Vehicle Accident. Driver 1 went left of center and collided with Driver 2 head on. Speeds over 50 MPH on both sides. I immediately went to the vehicles and began care my job as an EMT, my job as a Good Samaritan. The last thing in my mind was what "district" I was in. 45 minutes later the victim in the 2nd car was freed and transported to the ER pending flight status to go to the nearest trauma center. 15 minutes after that I went to my scheduled department meeting like we have every other Tuesday of the month.

As soon as I arrived the Asst. Chief (who I might add only has the job because her 2nd Husband is the chief. no real training.) blind sided with me why I ran that call. My reply was easy, "It wasn't on purpose I didn't really have a choice." After a lengthy discussion she decided and to sum it up that because I was not 2 miles north on this same road I should have just driven on past. Now ask yourself this:

If you wreck your vehicle or are in need of medical attention would you want your First Responder or CPR certified citizen to think twice because of the stretch of highway you're on?
